Statham: Are you not entertained?!?

Jason Statham movies are always enjoyable, but at the same time they are a guilty little pleasure.

You know he’s going to play the same character in every movie, and you know he’s going to start out doing his thing, some bad guy will get in his way, and he’s have to do badass things to right the wrongs.

However, any character development will be minor, and there will be no profound moral to the story (other than don’t mess with Statham).

But is this bad?

Sure the movie isn’t going to win any Oscars, will never be seen as a classic, and a week later you’ll forget it… but you’ll be entertained.

And that really asks the question: Are you going to be entertained, or to be educated? Are you going for the art, or the spectacle?

Let us know your thoughts, and if you love these guilty pleasures, or if you typically cast them aside for something more.
