Thank you for joining our podcast this week and welcome to Exploring Fort Saskatchewan.  Our community is active and exciting and there is always plenty of cultural, recreational and leisure activists to enjoy.

This week we talk about whats coming up this weekend in Fort Saskatchewan for the week of October 11th, 2016 and also recap last weeks events.

October 14 / 15th –  Clog-toberfest hosted by Blizzard Cloggers at the Normandy Room, Friday 7 to 9:30 p.m. and Saturday 1:30 – 9:30 p.m. Our very own Councillor Blizzard is the host and will help you clog the weekend away.
October 15th – Active Living Expo for our Seniors at Fort Saskatchewan Senior High 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Register with the City in advance. It really is a Prescription for our Senior Citizens to Get Active! They will have Alberta Heartland Primary Care Network along with their keynote speaker talking about how to improve your overall health and quality of life one step at a time
October 15thCome Rock with Us – 2016-17 Curling Registration has begun. You can call or drop by the golf course office to register for a team or individual. Early bird fees are in effect until October 15th. If you’ve always wanted to learn there are Monday after school JR leagues; Monday night beginner league and guess what – NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Curling does get underway September 17th, so if you’re thinking about trying it out – check them out soon.
October 16Dog Park Opening at 1 p.m. The City of Fort Saskatchewan invites all dogs and their owners to attend the grand opening of the new 38 acres off leash Dog Park with an “unleashing” ceremony. The park is fenced in and will offer a dry dog area and a future doggie playground, and will be open from 6:00 am – 11:00 pm daily. This new off leash Dog Park is a project from the Recreation and Parks Master Plan Update and will be a fabulous addition to recreation for the city.  Doggie-bags will be available for the first 100 dog owners with promotional items from pet businesses.
